Donald Trump’s surprising win in November 2016 had the nation wondering what now? Within a month, former congressional staffers had answered that question by producing the Indivisible Guide, an online how-to for resisting the Trump agenda. Since then, the guide has been used to form 6,000 Indivisible groups--that's at least two groups in every congressional district in the country.
In January two fledgling Individual groups in Las Cruces merged into one. On Jan. 11, 2017, the new group of about eight members agreed to join Indivisible by declaring-—We’re in! The group is now more than 200 members strong.
Indivisible LAS CRUCES is a grass-roots group that focuses on voter education, participation and action in support of progressive values. We also are dedicated to ensuring that New Mexico’s congressional leaders advocate for our interests and respect our progressive principles. Las Cruces is the largest city in the Second Congressional District, which covers the entire southern half of the state. Congresswoman Xochitl Torres Small represents our district along with Senators Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich. We partner with other Indivisible groups in District Two often sharing information and participating in joint events.
